What Is Machine Learning?

•Machine Learning (ML) is a branch of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that allows computers to learn from data—without being explicitly programmed.

•Instead of writing instructions for every situation, you feed the machine examples (called training data), and it finds patterns to make predictions or decisions.

•In short: “Machine Learning teaches computers how to learn from experience.”

•Data: The foundation; ML models learn from historical data (e.g., images, text, numbers).

•Model: A mathematical system that finds patterns in data.

•Training: The process where the model learns from data.

•Prediction: Once trained, the model can predict outcomes from new input.

•Algorithms: Techniques used to learn from data (e.g., decision trees, neural networks).
